Cardiff Half Marathon
One of Wales’s largest fundraising events is back this fall. The Wizz Air Cardiff Half Marathon is returning this Sunday (2nd of October) with more than 25,000 participants.
The track will pass through some of Cardiff’s most iconic landmarks including Cardiff Castle, The Principality Stadium, Wales Millennium Centre, Cardiff Bay, and Cardiff Civic Centre.

Saturday 1st October
Planned Industrial Action on Saturday 1st October (the day before the Wizz Air Cardiff Half Marathon) will affect public transport services over the weekend. Due to the large-scale disruption on rail, it is possible that road and bus travel will be impacted. Please expect busy services, delays, and cancellations.

There will be planned road closures in place on the day of the marathon, affecting local bus services. Disruptions and delays on services are expected, please check the below changes made by operators before traveling:

Bus stops on Whitchurch Road, Crwys Road, City Road and Newport Road will not be served.Between approx. 10:30 and 15:15 buses will divert via North Road to and from Heath Hospital.Service 8 will start and end at Mermaid Quay (not County Hall) from first bus until 12:30. The following bus stops will not be served: County Hall, Scott Harbour, Britannia Quay, Wales Millennium Centre. |

The 11:33 journey from Drope and 12:05 to Drope will start and end at Park Street. Buses will enter and exit the city via Tudor Street (outbound) and Fitzhamon Embankment towards the city centre. |

Stagecoach South Wales
All Stagecoach services will start and finish at Greyfriars Road all day.
From first bus until 10:45, buses will run via Column Road, Park Place, Boulevard de Nantes and Kingsway into Greyfriars Road. From Greyfriars Road buses will run via Park Place and Column Road.
From 10:45 until 16:00, buses will run via North Road, Kingsway into Greyfriars Road. From Greyfriars Road buses will run via Boulevard de Nantes and North Road.
Service 122 will run via Gabalfa Interchange & North Road and will not serve Cathedral Road all day.
