Traveline Cymru on hand to help freshers get around at Welsh universities

02 October 2017

Traveline Cymru, the public transport information company, is making its way around universities across the country to help students find their way around their new cities.

Through its myunijourney website students at local universities can get travel tips and information helping them navigate their new surroundings, without the added expense of using their own cars.

Upon visiting, students can plan journeys from main campus locations, find bus stops and discover local travel tips and details on student ticketing.

Rhian Cosslett, Marketing Manager at Traveline Cymru, the Welsh Government’s public transport information service, said: “Starting university is one of the most exciting times of a young person’s life, but it can also be incredibly daunting to be away from home, especially in a brand-new town or city.

“We want to encourage students, both new and existing, to make the most out of the public transport services in their area, and help them discover what options are available to them as they start to get their bearings. We’ll be attending universities across the country over the next few weeks, which is the perfect time for students to come and chat to us.

“The myunijourney website is full of all the information students may need on finding their public transport routes, such as timetable and journey planning tools and local travel tips that can be used throughout their time at university.”

David Manfield at Cardiff University said: “It’s vital to us that our students know how to get from A to B when travelling around campuses and the wider area. For many students, it's about knowing what transport options are available to them, and the myunijourney website is a fun and interactive way to find out the information they need.”
