Ice warning issued for Wales, with snow expected to hit this week13 January 2016
The Met Office has updated its snow forecast to show widespread falls on higher ground across Wales on Friday morning as the temperature drops close to freezing around the country.
It is also set to get icy as the country faces some of its coldest temperatures of the year.
The yellow 'be aware' warning covers the entire country and lasts from Thursday evening until late morning on Friday.
The Met Office has forecast heavy snow for these areas:
- Merthyr Tydfil
- New Inn, Carmarthenshire
- Blaenau Ffestiniog

- Neath and Port Talbot
- Ebbw Vale
- Builth Wells
- Llandrindod Wells

South East Wales
Snow across the region in the morning, sunshine in the afternoon, further light snow in parts in the evening.
South West Wales
Cloudy in Pembrokeshire, rain, sleet and some snow in parts of Carmarthenshire, snow and sleet in Swansea.
Snow across the area in the morning, turning to rain and sleet as the day goes on.
North East Wales
Snow in the morning, with sleet and heavy rain in the afternoon.
North West Wales
Snow in the morning, heavy in parts. Snow will remain in parts but heavy rain later on Friday.
