Cardiff Bus Service Changes from Sunday 26 Jan 2014

There will be some changes to the following Cardiff Bus services from Sunday 26th January 2014. These are mostly timetable changes due to operational performance, however, there will also be route changes to services 9A, 9B, 21/23, 38 (and introduction of new service 38A), 57/57B/58/58B, 64/65, 95/95A and X59. All details can be found on the Cardiff Bus website and also below:

9A: New timetable and most journeys start and end at Canal Street in the city centre rather than Central Bus Station. Clickhere to preview new timetable.

21 & 23: New timetable and all journeys on both services will operate direct via Gabalfa flyover. If you currently catch routes 21 or 23 at Gabalfa interchange your nearest alternative bus stops will be at Gabalfa Clinic - a short distance away. If you board at Gabalfa Interchange and travel to and from the city centre only then routes 24/25, and 36 will still call here - meaning 5 buses per hour Monday to Saturday daytime are available for you. 38 & 38A: New timetable and introduction of route 38A. Between Whitchurch Road and Heath Hospital alternate journeys Monday to Saturday daytime will operate via Gabalfa Interchange and Eastern Avenue Slip Road not Caerphilly Road and Rhydhelig Avenue. Click here to preview new timetable.

57/57B & 58/58B: Withdrawal of routes 57B and 58B and replaced by new X59 - see below. New timetable and daytime journeys Mondays to Saturdays on route 58 will start and end at Heol Pontprennau (Clos Cwm Du) not ASDA - journeys on route 57 remain unchanged. If you travel between Pentwyn Road and ASDA during the daytime then journeys are re placed by new X59 - see below.

64 & 65: Changes to timetables. Additionally in Birchgrove journeys routed to operate via Caerphilly Road and Rhydhelig Avenue not Heathwood Road and St. Augustine Road. Click hereto preview timetable.

95 & 95A: New timetable with journeys on 95 operating to and from Heath Hospital and journeys on 95A terminating in the city centre, Canal Street. In the city centre, journeys travelling to Heath Hospital will operate via lower St. Mary Street, Customhouse Street, Bute Terrace, Station Terrace, Dumfries Place and Park Place then current route to Heath Hospital. At Heath Hospital services are routed to Academic Avenue and Heath Park Way. Click here to preview timetable.

New timetable and service revised to operate Mondays to Saturdays and additionally call at Cardiff East (Pentwyn) Park & Ride site. Service will operate every 30 minutes from Cardiff Gate Business Park and Pontprennau and with additional 30 minute journeys from Cardiff East P&R site means a 15 minute frequency from Cardiff East P&R and 30 minute frequency from Cardiff Gate Business Park and Pontprennau fast into the city centre. This will also offer park and ride opportunities for those in the Cardiff Gate Business Park area.
Within the city centre buses will start and end at Churchill Way until mid-June when they will be extended to David Street (St. David's Eastside) once the road works in that area are completed. Click here to preview new time table.
On event days, i.e. events at the Millennium Stadium etc, a special timetable will operate when more buses and revised operating hours will be in place to cater for those events.

X91: The 1530 journeys from Llantwit Major retimed to 1535 to better cater for college students at Cardiff and Vale's Colcot Campus. Click here to preview new timetable.
