Principality Stadium Events

Due to several large-scale events in Cardiff this June, disruptions to some services are expected. We will be populating this page with relevant updates for the upcoming events as they become available to us from operators.

If you’re travelling to any of the events, please be aware that (for safety reasons) there will be some city centre road closure in place. This means bus services will need to divert and use different stops.

Due to large number of people expected to attend these events, public transport services are expected to be extremely busy.

  • Buses towards the city centre will follow normal route to Penarth Road/Corporation Road/Clare Road junction, then run via Penarth Road, Callaghan Square, Lower St. Mary's Street*, Mill Lane and Canal Street, terminating at Hayes Bridge Road.  For connecting buses towards Heath Hospital, please go to Churchill Way. Bus stops along Clare Road, Fitzhamon Embankment, Wood Street, Wyndham Arcade & Bute Terrace will not be served.

Churchill Way

  • Buses towards Heath Hospital will start from Churchill Way and then follow normal route

  • Routes 21 and 23 will enter the city centre via Colum Road and Park Place, exiting via Greyfriars Road, Kingsway and North Road.

  • Route 24 inbound will enter the city centre via Lower Cathedral Road and Despenser Street, terminating at Fitzhamon Embankment. Bus stops at Kingsway and Westgate Street will not be served

  • Buses will enter the city centre via North Road and Kingsway, terminating at Greyfriars Road. Bus stops at Kingsway and Westgate Street will not be served.

  • Buses towards Sports Village will run from the city centre to Penarth Road/Corporation Road junction via Callaghan Square and Penarth Road. Bus stops at Philharmonic, Tudor Street and along Clare Road will not be served.

 

Newport Bus

Due to the Coldplay Music of the Spheres concert at the Principality Stadium on 6 and 7 June and the Harry Styles - Love on Tour concert at the Principality Stadium on 20th of June from 16:00 Newport Bus - 30 services will terminate and start at the Kingsway stop (opposite Hilton and Friary Gardens).

Due to the Harry Styles - Love on Tour concert at the Principality Stadium on 21st of June, from 12:00 Newport Bus - 30 services will terminate and start at the Kingsway stop (opposite Hilton and Friary Gardens).

All buses will enter the city centre via Dumfries Place, Stuttgarter Strasse, Park Place and Greyfriars Road. Bus stops on Station Terrace, Lower Churchill Way and Customhouse Street will not be served.

 

Stagecoach South Wales

Stagecoach bus services 26, 86X, 124, 132, 136, T4 and X3 will be starting and ending in Greyfriars Road from 1500.

The 122 will be starting and ending at Lower Cathedral Road from 1500.

The 124 will run via Western Avenue to Greyfriars Road from 1500.

These arrangements will be in place for the rest of the day.

There may be delays to some services in the Cardiff area due to the volume of traffic.

A post-event queuing system will be in place at Cardiff Central station.
