Planned Improvement Works

Some rail replacement bus services will operate over the coming months due to essential maintenance work taking place on the Transport for Wales Rail network.

Some late night and early morning journeys may also be subject to change that are not included. Where possible, maintenance work is planned to minimise disruption to customers.

Overrunning Engineering Works Between Hereford and Shrewsbury - 22 September2023

Due to overrunning engineering works between Hereford and Shrewsbury, there will be no trains running between Hereford and Shrewsbury on Friday 22nd September.

Due to limited replacement road transport between Hereford and Shrewsbury, passengers are advised essential travel only.

Passengers advised to travel on alternative routes, ticket acceptance is in place with the following train operators.

  • Cross Country, Cardiff and on towards Birmingham
  • West Midlands, Shrewsbury or Hereford to Birmingham
  • Great Western Railway, Cardiff to Bristol Parkway
  • Avanti, Birmingham to Crewe/Chester/Holyhead
  • Avanti, Stafford/Crewe to Manchester
  • Northern, Crewe to Manchester
