Disruptions

Pink will be performing at the Principality Stadium on 20/6/2019. There will be road closures in and around the city centre from 17:30 until Midnight. Please see below for details of these closures and for service diversions that will be taking place.

Cardiff Council

There will be a full city centre road closure from 5:30pm – Midnight.

However from early in the day Scott Rd & Park St will be closed as a result of the need to prepare Gate 5 and to protect queuing fans – access to off street premises prior to the full closure will be maintained

For a full road closure the following roads are closed:

  • Kingsway from its junction with North Rd to its junction with Duke St.
  • Cowbridge Road East from its junction with Cathedral Rd to its junction with Westgate St.
  • Tudor St from its junction with Clare Rd to its junction with
  • Wood St (access for residents & traders will be permitted via Fitzhammon Embankment)
  • Plantagenet St & Beauchamp St from their junctions with Despenser Place to their junctions with Tudor St (access for residents & traders will be permitted)
  • Saunders Road from its junction with St Mary Street
  • Customhouse Street throughout its length (access to private car parks will be permitted)
  • Penarth Road from its junction with Saunders Road to the entrance leading into the rear of the Central Train Station

The following roads will be closed in their entirety: - Duke St, Castle St, High St, St. Mary St, Caroline St, Wood St, Central Sq, Westgate St, Quay St, Guildhall Pl, Golate, Park St, Havelock St & Scott Rd.
 

Additions:

Civic Centre: Access to part of the Civic Centre will be controlled throughout the day, with access allowed only for concert parking, limited commuter parking, loading and access to private car parks. Roads affected include: King Edward VII Avenue, Museum Avenue, City Hall Road, College Road & Gorsedd Gardens Road
 

Please Note:

If there are any safety concerns in connection with crowds queuing to go into the venue prior to gates opening there may be a need to close Wood St & Westgate St earlier, along with lane restrictions adjacent to Gate 1 on Cowbridge Rd East.

 

 

Transport for Wales

There will be limited capacity on local Cardiff and Valleys routes.

Cardiff Queen Street will close at 22:00. For all local Cardiff and Valleys services please use Cardiff Central after this time. 

A post-event queue system will be in place at Cardiff Central station. Please see below for more information.

Stagecoach South Wales

All Stagecoach bus services in Cardiff will end or start in Greyfriars Road AFTER 16:00.  

Bus 25 will not serve Cardiff Bay after 16:00.

122 and 124 will operate normal route via Castle St and Cathedral Road until 17:00 when services will divert via North Road / Gabalfa Interchange to and from Llandaf (Black Lion)

 

 

Newport Bus

Service 30 will terminate and depart from Greyfriars Road from 16:00 hours until last service.
