Coronavirus- Transport Service Updates

Wales is in an ‘Alert Level 4’ lockdown. You must stay at home and only travel for essential purposes.

These purposes include:

• going to work if you can't work from home.
• going to school, college or for education
• for essential shopping or medical needs
• providing essential care
• escaping a risk of illness or injury, such as those at risk of domestic abuse

The majority of the above guidance is set out in law, which means that they can be enforced by the police or by local authority enforcement officers.

If you need any help planning your journey, please call our Freephone number 0800 464 00 00 (between 7am and 8pm daily).

Other useful links:

If you’ve received confirmation of your Covid-19 vaccination appointment, remember to plan ahead, leave plenty of time for your journey and follow Transport for Wales' Travel Safer guidance. You can use our Journey Planner tool to find your most convenient public transport route or call our contact centre agents for free on 0800 464 00 00 from 7am to 8pm daily if you require any further assistance. Flights

Cardiff Airport

As a vital part of the transport infrastructure in Wales it is essential that the Airport remains open for legitimate travel and air movements, as we have done throughout the pandemic, closely following guidance provided by the relevant authorities.

Please visit the Cardiff Airport website for additional information and guidance for passengers due to travel, measures in place at the airport and more.

They have introduced a number of new measures to ensure the safety of their team and customers ahead of the start of flying in July:

1. Enhanced cleaning of the whole Airport throughout the day and night, plus a deep sanitisation before the terminal re-opens
2. More hand sanitiser stations added throughout the Airport
3. Social distancing for staff and customers, keeping 2m wherever possible
4. New protective screens in areas such as check in, boarding gates and immigration desks
5. Increased signage and floor markings to help everyone understand the changes to the Airport and remind everyone about the safety measures
6. Displays of all the relevant UK and Welsh Government advice and information
7. Introduced a team of ‘Airport Stewards’ to help customers with the changes throughout the terminal and to be on hand to answer any questions
8. All Airport teams are wearing appropriate PPE as required, including face coverings in all areas
9. We're asking passengers to wear face coverings when travelling through the Airport before they fly and when they land at Cardiff (Click here for Welsh Government Guidance on face coverings)
10. Encouraging contactless payments throughout the Airport where possible
11. Asking only customers and Cardiff Airport team to enter the terminal buildings
12. Training Airport teams about COVID-19 and the safety measures that have been put in place.

Eastern Airways

26/09/2020

Flights between Cardiff and Anglesey now suspended until January 4th 2021 due Welsh essential travel restrictions.

All services will continue to remain subject to the Government's and other bodies latest advice for your travel safety, especially international or cross-border services where variations in travel requirements may differ or any period of quarantine required to be adhered to.

We will require all passengers to travel with face coverings and adhere to on-board hand sanitiser usage for their own peace-of-mind and to minimise impact on fellow travellers.

We shall suspend our normal complimentary cabin service, including hot & cold drinks and bar and snack range to minimise passenger contact other than for safety related requirements until advised otherwise.

Extensive safety measures including nightly aircraft sanitisation and turnaround cleaning will be in-place for the protection of all passengers and staff

Please visit the Eastern Airways website for additional information.
