12 February 2021

Service 28 will operate hourly, Monday to Saturday from Caerphilly Interchange via Maesycwmmer to Newbridge for the vaccination centre.

Stagecoach in South Wales is supporting passengers from the Caerphilly Borough who need to travel to Newbridge Leisure Centre, vaccination centre by introducing a new bus service from Monday 15th February.

Service 28 will operate hourly, Monday to Saturday from Caerphilly Interchange via Maesycwmmer to Newbridge for the vaccination centre. The new service has been developed in partnership with Caerphilly County Borough Council. The same Covid-19 guidelines will apply, there will be reduced capacity, social distancing, windows open for ventilation and face coverings must be worn at all times (unless medically exempt).

Nigel Winter, Managing Director, Stagecoach in South Wales said:

“During these challenging times, we know how important continued availability of transport is to local communities and key workers across South Wales.

We are pleased to work with Caerphilly County Borough Council and the Aneurin Bevan University Health Board to introduce this new service and support our customers who need to get to Newbridge for their vaccination appointment. We know this will be an important journey for many people now and in the future months as the vaccination programme continues.

We want local passengers to know that we will continue to work with the Welsh Government and the local authorities to provide lifeline transport options for key workers to get across South Wales with the health and safety of our customers and drivers at the core.”

Stagecoach in South Wales continues to carry out extensive cleaning regimes on its buses and at its depots to protect the safety and wellbeing of customers and bus workers.
