Traveline Cymru partners with Nation Radio for ‘Be Safe Be Seen’ 2019 campaign

04 November 2019

Following the success of last year’s launch, we’re very proud to once again be partnering with Nation Radio for their ‘Be Safe Be Seen’ campaign. This initiative aims to promote road safety to children across South Wales by helping them remain visible.

In 2018, 80 children were killed or seriously injured on Wales’ roads. In addition, more than 5,000 children were injured on roads across the UK in 2017, with 23% of accidents happening between the hours of 3pm – 5pm. Traveline Cymru and Nation Radio want to help reduce these statistics, especially at this time of year as the evenings continue to grow darker.

To help children across South Wales remain visible on our roads, schools can order reflective backpack keyrings from the Nation Radio website from Monday 4th November 2019.

  • Nation Radio will only send the keyrings to a registered schools, nurseries or community groups within South Wales and have a postcode starting with SA, SY, CF or NP
  • Only teachers and support staff can apply for stickers for schools and nurseries. these will be sent in your name if successful
  • A maximum of 30 keyrings can be applied per school or community group
  • 5,000 keyrings are available and subject to availability
  • Not all applications for stickers will be successful. If successful, keyrings will be sent out within 7-10 working days after application. Please do not contact Nation Radio asking if you are successful.

On the Traveline Cymru website, we will be posting a series of blogs giving you and your children hints and tips to stay safe when travelling by bus, train, walking or cycling with the help of our services.
