Disruptions

The effect of the Order will be to temporarily stop any vehicles proceeding along the following lengths of roads. The restriction is necessary in the interest of public safety during a town centre Christmas events including market stalls and street entertainment:

Aberdare:

High Street Southbound lane only, from its junction with Seymour Street to its junction with Canon Street
Canon Street Entire Length
Commercial Street Entire Length
Market Street Entire Length
Victoria Square

1. From its junction with Canon Street, Southwards for a distance of 65 metres

2. Southbound lane only, from a point 65 metres south of its junction with Canon Street, southwards for a distance of 18 metres

3. Westbound lane (northern section only), from a point 65 metres south of its junction with Canon Street, south westwards for a distance of 28 metres

The Unnamed Lane between Commercial Street & Market Street (Boot Lane) Entire Length

 

It is expected to be operative from 8am – 8pm on Saturday 8th December 2018

Alternative Route – From the northern side of the closure, proceed via Gadlys Roundabout, Route A4233, A4059 Aberdare Bypass, Tinney’s Roundabout and Cardiff Street to the southern side of the closure.

 

Pontypridd:


Taff Street – From its junction with Crossbrook Street through to High Street and its junction with Sardis Road, (Including Penuel Lane, Gas Road, Temperance Place, Market Street, Church Street and Mill Street)

Alternative Route – From the northern side of the closure, proceed via Crossbrook Street, Gelliwastad Road, Catherine Street, Sardis Road Gyratory and Sardis Road to the southern end of the closure

It is expected to be operative from 9am – 8pm on Saturday 17th November 2018

 

Tonypandy:


Dunraven Street – From its junction with Gelli Road, north westwards for a distance of 195 metres


NB: the “Rhondda Cynon Taff County Borough Council (Tonypandy Town Centre Regeneration) (Waiting and Loading Restrictions and Designated Loading Bays) Order 2018” will be temporarily suspended where it refers to Limited Waiting and Loading Bays for the duration of the temporary road closure in Dunraven Street


It is expected to be operative from 8am – 8pm on Saturday 24th November 2018

 

Ynyshir:


Ynyshir Road – From its junction with Station Road to its junction with Wind Street


It is expected to be operative from 1pm – 9pm on Saturday 8th December 2018

 


Access will be maintained for pedestrians and emergency service vehicles.
