OVO Energy Women’s Tour- Friday 14th until Saturday 15th June 2019

The OCO Energy Women’s Tour Championship first launched in 2014. Since then, this annual event has become a highlight of the British sporting calendar, and the 2019 race is set to be no different!

96 of the world’s top female cyclists will tackle the newly extended 790-kilometre, 6-stage race route that covers a breath-taking 8,400 meters of ascent. The event’s final two stages will take competitors on a 140-kilometre climb of Powys hills between Llandrindod Wells and Builth Wells; the total elevation gain of 2,206 metres makes stage five the hardest in the event’s history. This is before a gruelling 126 kilometre final stretch between Carmarthen and Pembrey Country Park, where one competitor will claim the title of 2019 champion.

Previous winners Coryn Rivera, Marianne Vos, Lisa Brennauer, Kasia Niewiadoma and Lizzie Deignan will all be making a triumphant return to this year’s race. This promises to be a hotly contested championship that cycling fans and spectators will not want to miss! The OVO Energy Women’s Tour will reach Powys on 14th June and Carmarthenshire on 15th June.
