Monster Jam returns to Cardiff for an action-packed evening of entertainment, featuring monster truck racing and gravity-defying freestyle competitions from world-class drivers to fuel fans with an adrenaline rush like never before.

Road closures

There will be a partial city centre road closure from 12:30 – 18:30pm

From early in the day Scott Rd & Park St (7am) will be closed as a result of the need to prepare Gate 5 and to protect queuing fans.

The following roads will be closed in their entirety: - High St, St. Mary St, Caroline St, Wood St, Central Sq, Westgate St, Quay St, Guildhall Pl, Golate, Park St, Havelock St & Scott Rd. 

For the partial road closure the following roads will also be closed:

  • Tudor St from its junction with Clare Rd to its junction with Wood St (access for residents & traders will be permitted via Fitzhammon Embankment)
  • Plantagenet St & Beauchamp St from their junctions with Despenser Place to their junctions with Tudor St (access for residents & traders will be permitted)
  • Saunders Road from its junction with St Mary Street
  • Customhouse Street throughout its length (access to private car parks will be permitted)
  • Penarth Road from its junction with Saunders Road to the entrance leading into the rear of the Central Train Station

Additions:

  • Civic Centre: Access to part of the Civic Centre will be controlled throughout the day from 7am, with access for parking allowed only for those attending the event, limited commuter parking, loading and access to private car parks. Roads affected include: King Edward VII Avenue, Museum Avenue, City Hall Road, College Road & Gorsedd Gardens Road.

Station Terrace:

From 18:00 – until train queues disperse (expected to be about 21:30) Station Terrace in its entirety will be closed – cars will be able to exit the Capitol Shopping centre car park via North Edward St / Station Terrace northbound onto Newport Rd / Dumfries place, Churchill way will remain open).

Stagecoach Bus

All Stagecoach buses will end and start at Greyfriars Road in Cardiff all day Saturday.

Buses 122 and 124 will operate a normal route via Cathedral Rd & Castle St.
