Llandrindod Wells Victorian Festival - Monday 19th until Sunday 25th August 2019

Following her extensive 63 year reign from June 1837 – January 1901, Queen Victoria has long remained a figure of interest and significance across the globe. This year, the 38th annual Llandrindod Wells Victorian Festival will commemorate Queen Victoria’s 200th birthday with a week-long celebration.

Highlights of the jam-packed festival programme include:

  • Monday 19th August: Queen Victoria will arrive at Llandrindod Wells Railway Station and be greeted by the town’s dignitaries. This will be followed by the festival’s Opening Ceremony at Temple Gardens.
  • Tuesday 20th August: Find your best Victorian outfit and get ready to enjoy a deliciously indulgent High Tea at the Hotel Commodore.
  • Wednesday 21st August: It’s time to head ‘Back to School’ for a special evening organised by Llandrindod Wells’ very own Town Crier, Jan Swindale, at the Hotel Commodore. The £25 ticket is inclusive of a themed buffet.
  • Thursday 22nd August: Enjoy a whole host of traditional stalls, games and competitions at the ‘Victorian Village Fete’.
  • Friday 23rd August: A true highlight of the festival, the Victorian Etiquette Ball at the Metropole Hotel will feature traditional sequence dancing.
  • Saturday 24th August: Calling all car enthusiasts! The Vintage and Classic Vehicle Display from 10am-4pm is not to be missed.
  • Sunday 25th August: Closing this year’s festival will be the stunning Torchlight Procession, departing from Temple Gardens at 8:35pm, followed by a spectacular fireworks display at 9:15pm.

You can find the full festival programme, and details of how to purchase your tickets, on the Llandrindod Wells Victorian Festival website.
