From 25th-29th September, the National Assembly of Wales will be hosting the GWLAD Future Wales Festival at the Senedd in Cardiff Bay. The 5-day programme will be packed with events for everyone to enjoy, including special music and comedy performances, talks, lectures and panel discussions. These activities will focus on a range of topics such as journalism, sport, politics and culture, as well as looking back at 20 years of devolution in Wales.

Highlights of the festival programme include:

  • BBC Question Time, Thursday 26th September: Question Time will take place in the Senedd for the first time as guests from the worlds of media, politics and beyond engage in topical debate and answer questions from members of the public.
  • Machynlleth Comedy Festival at GWLAD, Friday 27th September: Little Wander, the team behind the Machynlleth Comedy Festival, will be bringing together some of Wales’ top comedic talents for an evening of fun and laughter.
  • An Audience with Charlotte Church, Saturday 28th September: Welsh singer-songwriter, actress and political activist Charlotte Church will host an evening of lively chat and music.
  • A Senedd that’s Equal for all Women, Saturday 28th September: Former and aspiring AMs will discuss gender equality in the Assembly and look towards what can be done to build a more representative and diverse Senedd in the future. This event is organised in partnership with Chwarae Teg.
  • Devolution and the Future: What does Wales think?, Sunday 29th September: Professor Roger Awan-Scully and Professor Laura McAllister from Cardiff University will discuss devolution, elections and political parties in Wales.
