Gower Festival

Gower Festival – Monday 1st until Saturday 13th July 2019

The Gower Festival has been a highlight of the Welsh music calendar for over 40 years. From 1st-7th July, join internationally acclaimed musicians at ancient churches across this breathtakingly beautiful part of south west Wales.

Opening this year’s festival will be the London Conchord Ensemble at St Peter’s Church on Monday 1st July. This will be the first concert of their three day residency in Gower and will see them perform iconic classical pieces such as Brahms’s Piano Quintet. Joint 1st prize winner of the 2018 Menuhin Violin Competition, Christian Li, will perform alongside Gordon Back (the festival’s Artistic Director) on Thursday 4th July. Li is the Menuhin Violin Competition’s youngest ever winner and has been in the international spotlight ever since.

To celebrate the last night of the festival, join Côr Caerdydd, the Chamber Orchestra of Wales and soloists including the harpist Catrin Finch as they perform music composed and conducted by Festival patron Sir Karl Jenkins. This birthday Gala celebration will take place at St Mary’s Church, Swansea.

To find out more about the programme of events taking place throughout the festival, and to purchase your tickets, visit the Gower Festival website.
