Bus Driver Awarded the ‘Diolch Drive’ Customer Service Award

25 August 2015

First Cymru and Bus Users Cymru are celebrating the joint winners of First’s Diolch Drive customer service awards. Justin Davies (Managing Director of First Cymru) will be there alongside Margaret Everson (Director, Bus Users Cymru) to present the awards.

Judges found it really hard to choose just one winner and therefore decided to award two.

Port Talbot based Ryan Coslett drives buses between Port Talbot, Neath and Swansea and was nominated by Louise Powell “If he can see me and my husband are trying to rush for the bus he will wait… He always has a smile on his face no matter what happens. He makes the journey more enjoyable”

First Cymru launched the Diolch Drive awards to recognise those First drivers across South Wales who go the extra mile to deliver great customer service.

The awards were launched during Catch the Bus Week and ran throughout July with customers nominating drivers online. The winners receive a special ‘Diolch Drive’ a certificate as well as £100 of vouchers to spend in the store of their choice. The individual successfully nominating the winning driver will also receive a prize in the form of free travel on the local bus network.

Justin Davies, Managing Director of First Cymru said: “We are really pleased to have had so many nominations for our first ever Diolch Drive Awards. Our winners are an asset to our business. Ryan and Phil are a credit to their depots”

He continued: “We want to continually drive up standards of customer service amongst our drivers and these awards are a great way to recognise and reward those people who are already delivering great service. We know we don’t always get it right, and we seek to take appropriate action if and when we identify those that let the side down, conversely, drivers like Ryan, Phil and all those nominated demonstrate that many of our drivers are working hard to make bus journeys more pleasant for our passengers and they deserve recognition.”
