Road closures

Pre-event there will be a small stadium city centre road closure from 6:00pm - 11:30pm

The following roads are closed: Westgate Street, Park Street, Scott Road (however if crowds dictate pre-event and are witnessed to over spill onto the roads an extension to this closure will be implemented to ensure public safety – this would involve the closure of Wood St and Lower St Mary St along with a lane closure on Cowbridge Rd East adjacent to gate 1).

Post event while crowds exit the stadium there will be a need to extend the road closure to include restrictions on Cowbridge Rd East / Castle St / Duke St & Wood St adjacent to Millennium Plaza – this will be for a short period while the crowds exit the stadium. The timing of this restriction will depend on the finish time of the event – if the event finishes at 10:30pm this closure will last from 10:00pm – 11:30pm.

Additions:

  • Parking will be in the civic centre -  Road closure to facilitate this is as follow: King Edward VII Ave from its junction with City Hall Rd to its junction with Boulevard de Nantes from 7am to midnight.
  • Civic Centre: Access to the Civic Centre will be controlled, with access allowed only for event-day parking, limited commuter parking, loading and access to private car parks. Roads affected include: King Edward VII Avenue, Museum Avenue, City Hall Road, College Road & Gorsedd Gardens Road

Please Note: If there are any safety concerns in connection with the Central Station queuing system then Wood Street, Westgate Street, Park Street, Havelock Street, St Mary Street, Penarth Road, Saunders Road and Custom House Street will remain closed until safety concerns are remedied.
