Improvement work is being carried out by Network Rail, who will be replacing track at the east end of platforms 4 and 6 at Cardiff Central station as part of the Cardiff Area Signalling Renewals (CASR) scheme.

The work will be carried out from the early hours of Saturday 1st April until the early hours of Monday 3rd April 2017. Network Rail staff will be working during the day and night to replace track using a range of heavy machinery.

During this time, no trains will run between Cardiff Central and Cardiff Queen Street stations and some services will be diverted via different routes into and out of Cardiff. There will also be rail replacement bus services running on some parts of the network.

Arriva Trains Wales say buses will replace trains between Cardiff Central and Cogan / Penarth / Barry Island / Bridgend via the Vale of Glamorgan on Saturday 1ns and Sunday 2nd April (All day)
