The following roads will be closed as part of the partial city centre road closure:

  • Tudor Street from its junction with Clare Road to its junction with Wood Street 
  • Plantagenet Street and Beauchamp Street from their junctions with Despenser Place to their junctions with Tudor Street
  • Saunders Road from its junction with St Mary Street
  • Customhouse Street throughout its length Penarth Road from its junction with Saunders Road to the entrance leading to the rear of the Central Train Station

The following roads will be closed in their entirety:

  • High Street, St Mary Street, Caroline Street, Wood Street, Central Square, Westgate Street, Quay Street, Guildhall Place, Golate, Park Street, Havelock Street and Scott Road Post event.

(There may be a need to put a lane closure, or hold traffic on Cowbridge Road East/Castle Street adjacent to gate 1)


Civic Centre: Access to the Civic Centre will be controlled, with access allowed only for event-day parking, limited commuter parking, loading and access to private car parks.

Roads affected include: King Edward VII Avenue, Museum Avenue, City Hall Road, College Road & Gorsedd Gardens Road

The bus routes will be affected between the hours of 17:30 to the Last Bus.

▲ On event day services 1 and 2 do not serve the rear of Central Railway Station (Stop JM & JN) from the time roads are closed.

● On event day baycar runs between City Centre (Customhouse Street – JG) and Cardiff Bay only and does not serve the city centre loop or rear of Central Railway Station (stop JM) from the time roads are closed.

All Stagecoach buses will end and start in Cardiff at Greyfriars Road AFTER 15:30 on 11/10/2018

  • Service 25 AFTER 15:30 will NOT serve Cardiff Bay 
  • Services 122 / 124 AFTER 15:30 will NOT serve Castle Street or Cathedral Road, but will divert via Gabalfa to and from Llandaf (Black Lion) and Greyfriars Road.


Arriva Trains Wales: (Information source: https://www.arrivatrainswales.co.uk/events/ )

Expect trains arriving into Cardiff to be busy throughout the day, especially in the early evening. There will be an extremely limited train service after the match (around and after 21:15pm) and a queue system in place at Cardiff Central Station.

Cardiff Queen Street Station will close at 21:30.

A diversion will be in place from 17:30 to the last bus.

The 30 Newport - Cardiff service will terminate and depart from Greyfriars Road.

The X30 will operate as normal during these times.

There will be diversions from 17:30 to 23:00 on the X1, X5, X8, X11 and 320 services.
