Cardiff Office Opening and Macmillan Coffee Morning

It’s the start of a new year and everyone here at Traveline Cymru would like to wish you all a very Happy New Year! We’re all back in our offices and ready to take on 2014.

For the Cardiff team, this meant coming back to our new offices after a successful move from our old premises in June of last year. The move has been an extremely positive step for us, with more space and accessibility for our expanding team. After a few months getting settled, we held the official opening of our new Cardiff based office on Wednesday 4th December 2013. As part of the day, we also hosted a fundraising coffee morning for Macmillan Cancer Support, in an attempt to raise money for a fantastic cause.

The day was a huge success, with a fantastic turnout and support from a number of companies and people we have the pleasure of working alongside. The opening began with our General Manager Graham Walter welcoming the guests and explaining how the move came about. He then welcomed Cynthia Ogbonna, the Managing Director of Cardiff Bus, who warmly shared a few words on the building, and then proceeded to unveil our brand new Traveline Cymru plaque.

With the office officially opened, the coffee morning then began in full swing. Our staff had all pitched in by bringing in homemade cakes and treats, alongside a generous contribution from Greggs bakery. Our Marketing Officer, Laura did a fantastic job of organising the day, with plenty of cake and coffee to go around , as well as promoting the Macmillan fundraising cause with balloons surrounding our new office walls. Here’s what she had to say about the event!

“Holding a Macmillan coffee morning the same time as our official office opening was a fantastic opportunity to raise money for a great charity. All the staff did a great job with their homemade cakes and everyone who attended the event donated generously. It was a really lovely event and it was nice to see so much support from our partners and suppliers.”

We would like to thank everyone who attended for their support and generous contributions, and together we managed to raise a total of £181.70 for Macmillan Cancer Support. Our Cardiff team are now looking forward to another successful year in our new home.
